Our Projects
The Resonance Project
In 2018, The Jacob Marberger HAWK Foundation provided a grant to two talented directors, Koby Leff and Jacob Sheppard-Saidel, who wrote and produced a feature film which premiered in May 2019.
Titled Snowflakes, the film provides a thought-provoking view of the college experience. Sometimes with edgy seriousness, sometimes tinted with just the right amount of humor, the audience journeys through the many scenarios and the challenges. “We use our art to raise questions about grief, spirituality, history, and individuals’ roles in communities.” Designed as a journey through the “process” various themes highlight the importance of being part of a caring community that offers acceptance and support during this time of life.
The HAWK Foundation will continue to offer their support as this very timely and insightful film is bought to the public via International Film Festivals.
The Jacob Marberger Thespian Award
This award was first given in 2016 and continues to be awarded each year to a Cheltenham High School graduating student who exemplifies confidence, spirit, and joy in theater performance and has been supportive to other members of the Eastern Standard Theater Program.
The HAWK Foundation provides an engraved plaque and financial scholarship ongoing.
Youth Choir Scholarship
With our pay-it-forward philosophy each year The HAWK Foundation provides a full year tuition scholarship for a member of the Philadelphia Commonwealth Youth Choirs. This organization helped to ignite and support the development of the HAWK Foundation in October 2016 with a fundraising event that highlighted “Stand up to Bullying” and “Responsible Technology Use” with a concert performed in honor of Jacob Marberger.
Under the guidance of director, Steven Fisher, talented youth from throughout the Philadelphia region lift- up through song. Their mission is defined by the word Ubuntu which means “A person is a person through other people.”
